Proposition 19

also known as the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010.

California is having a state-wide ballot on Nov 2nd, that if passed, Prop 19 would legalize various marijuana-related activities, allow local governments to regulate these activities, permit local governments to impose and collect marijuana-related fees and taxes, and authorizes various criminal and civil penalties.

If it does pass, the sale of marijuana still remains illegal because of the Controlled Substance Act.

    I'm for currently, but really hoping to get some time soon to actually sit down and read the full thing. Once I do that I'll have a more definite view.

    the drug war is a huge failure, just like prohibition was. taxing it is a great idea, especially when governments are spending money quicker than a drunken sailor.

    sadly, if this passes, the federal gov't could step in and arrest people growing pot for the state
